Last week, RegTech Women promoted the launch event for The City Of London Corporation's report, 2021: A Critical Year for RegTech. This report was produced in partnership with RegTech Associates and launched today.
Innovative technologies provided by the UK RegTech industry can help financial services to meet their regulatory obligations better. The report investigates the current state of play for UK RegTech, examines the opportunities and challenges to the future growth and success of the industry. Regulation now penetrates to the core of all financial institutions whether they focus on insurance, banking or asset management.
Sian Lewin, Co-founder of RegTech Associates and Co-founder of RegTech Women, presented the key findings of the report, with her top three key recommendations:
- Build awareness in RegTech's ability to scale through an independent testing and accreditation scheme
- Regulators adopt a "tech embracing" stance to advocate for improved standards for technology driving regulatory compliance in firms
- Establish a coherent and collective voice for the UK RegTech industry to improve representation and visibility
